BENEFITING: Right To Play
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
Right To Play uses the transformative power of play to educate and empower children facing adversity. We believe that the power of play can transform a child’s life. Through sports and games, we help children build essential life skills and better futures, while driving social change in their communities with lasting impact. We promote the involvement of all children and youth, and that’s why we are working in the most disadvantaged areas engaging girls, persons with disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS, street children, former child combatants and refugees.
Right To Play is supported by an international network of more than 300 professional and Olympic athletes from 40 countries. As role models, these athletes inspire children and celebrate their successes. They help raise awareness by lending their voice to the cause. Each year, we reach close to 835,000 children in our regular weekly activities with the help of more than 12,000 volunteer coaches in conjunction with our National Offices in Canada, the United States, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Our programs embody the highest and best values of sport and are carefully designed to encourage the healthy physical, social and emotional development of children and youth because when children play, the world wins.
