BENEFITING: RIPA LADRANG FOUNDATION
Please help Project Mera Gaon to adopt and rebuild a village in Nepal that has been destroyed by the recent earth quake.
The recent earthquake in Nepal has devastated thousands of people and cause destruction of centuries of history and culture. The need is dire. The devastation and its affects need urgent care and serious awareness to rebuild this country and its people.
Need is URGENT. We are trying to get the project launched in August as hundreds are without shelter.
Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche, the founder of Ripa Ladrang foundation is a philanthropist who is involved in many humanitarian projects as well and a spiritual guide to many. He was present in Kathmandu during the tremors and was on the front line to support people with relief materials the next day. He reached out to villages remotely located with food and supplies.
We at Ripa Ladrang urgently seek your help to raise funds to adopt and rebuild the Kulay village and many others. In Kulay, a community predominantly populated by Tamang, the entire community of 55 houses are now uninhabitable because of the earthquakes. Kulay is in a beautiful location overlooking the mountains in Okharpauwa Village Development Committee, ward no. 5, Nuwakot about 12 km North-West of Kathmandu. The project MeraGaon aims to rebuild Kulay and other villages one at a time. For more information on our foundation and our founder please visit http://www.Ripaladrang.org
A detailed study has been conducted and the specific objectives of the project are:
1. Adopt the village based on need 2. Rebuild homes that are sustainable and can be build to withstand future tremors 3. Provide basic educational facility 4. Work with local communities to create work in the process of rebuilding.
The project will also support a documentary movie to raise awareness of the cause and destruction in order to help us mobilize funds and create support network for us to sustain the project. This is being done by 2 well known film makers.
