BENEFITING: Colon Cancer Alliance
EVENT DATE: Apr 12, 2014
Nearly two years ago my amazing Mother, at the young age of 67, lost her battle with colon cancer, and the world lost a great teacher, in both her professional life and how she selflessly lived her life every day.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in America. Yet, this cancer is largely preventable through appropriate screening and can be cured 90% of the time when detected early. However, when it is not diagnosed until it has spread to distant organs, the five year survival rate is only 12 percent. Consult your physician and get screened early.
Many of us, too many in fact, have been personally touched by all kinds of cancer, but together WE CAN fight back and make a positive difference in beating cancer. Your help is desperately needed.
In my Mom’s honor and to raise money for the awareness, detection, prevention and research of colorectal cancer, I am running my first marathon in Carmel, Indiana on April 12, 2014.
I would be incredibly honored and forever grateful if you would make a contribution to this great cause.
