Rive, an artist specializing in sculpture and installation, made his way to Brooklyn by way of Taiwan.
A journey that took him away from the hardships of Taiwan, where salaries are low and vision limited, and allowed him to further explore his passion for art and eventually taking him to The School of Visual Arts where he earned a masters degree.
Given that, he’s very cognizant and appreciative of the new found world of opportunity New York City offers.
A long time fan of boxing, Rive is excited to get in the ring and start on this new endeavor.
He relishes the idea that boxing will give him the ability to separate his mind from reticence, hesitation and fear while developing an inner rhythm in sync with the surrounding world. After all, so much of what he does artistically is intuitive and a change of pace, from the mentally taxing nature of art to the physicality of boxing, can only be a positive.
From a charitable perspective, Rive’s personal experience has proven to him that expanding the spectrum of life experience and life in general can certainly be quite difficult. Thus he believes in giving back and is especially looking forward to helping the kids in the Give A Kid A Dream program, some of whom he's had the pleasure of getting to know since getting his training started.
