BENEFITING: GLEASONS GIVE A KID A DREAM
EVENT DATE: Nov 16, 2013
Rive, an artist specializing in sculpture, made his way to Brooklyn by way of Taiwan.
A journey that took him away from the hardships of Taiwan, where salaries are low and opportunities limited, and allowed him to further explore his passion for art and eventually taking him to The School of Visual Arts where he earned a masters degree.
Given that, he’s very cognizant and appreciative of the new found world of opportunity New York City offers.
A long time fan of boxing, Rive is excited to get in the ring and start on this new endeavor.
He relishes the idea that boxing will give him the ability to separate his mind from his work. After all, so much of what he does artistically is intuitive and a mental change of pace can only be a positive.
From a charitable perspective, Rive’s personal experience has proven to him that growing up, and life in general, can certainly be quite difficult, so he believes in giving back and is thus especially looking forward to helping the kids in Gleason’s Give A Kid A Dream program.
