BENEFITING: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF NEW YORK
ORGANIZER: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF NEW YORK
As some of you may know, after years of running, I am finally committing to running my first half marathon.
I am running as a member of the Ronald McDonald House of New York team, a cause that is near and dear to my heart. My Uncle Ken's brother Donny passed away in his early 20s as a result of kidney disease. Since then, my family has been working with the Ronald McDonald House to keep the memory of Donny alive by helping other children in need. Today, a room exists in the house in Donny's name, and continues to help children with pediatric cancer and their families each and every day, serving as their "home away from home."
The House is a special place where kids with cancer can be kids first, rather than kids defined by their illness. It’s a place where families can live together during the most stressful times in their lives and where families can look to each other for additional care and support systems.
Thank you so much for your love and support!
