I am running 100 miles on May 19–20, 2012, to help fight childhood obesity.
American youth have become so unhealthy that “the baby-boomers may outlive their kids” – WebMD* ; however, there are fantastic organizations working to reverse the trend.
I am not an athlete and I have never run a marathon; I am a parent and youth leader who is concerned that our children will suffer shortened lives that are crippled by health issues. I want our children to live longer and live healthier lives.
Karno Kids is my cause
The Karno Kids Foundation aspires to inspire kids around the nation to eat better and live healthier.
By providing grants to deserving active after school programs and committing to support open space preserves we are just a small part of a growing movement.
Executive Director of Karno Kids, J.T. Service stated, "We're excited to support John in his Road to 100 because it shows that anyone, anywhere can help in the fight against childhood obesity. They simply need to take action and that is what John is doing."

We are trying to establish fun runs in as many cities as possible and are hoping to have at least one in every state! To find an event, please check our Facebook page.
If you are able to volunteer we would LOVE the help!
