Roberta's Medical and Funeral Expenses
Organized by: Katy Johns
Roberta suffered from kidney failure for several years, having to endure daily dialysis treatments while waiting for a transplant. Last November of 2015 she was having extenuating abdominal pain and was hospitalized. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Doctors wanted to get her kidneys under control before starting Chemo. Her health started going downhill from there. Two months ago she was hospitalized again due to a blood clot in her lung. After getting that under control, she was told her Cancer was very aggressive and spreading to other organs. They only gave her a few months to live. She decided to move ahead with the Chemo treatments and fight till the end. Needless to say the side effects were terrible and her body wasn’t able to tolerate them. She landed in the hospital yet again with an intestinal infection, dangerously low blood pressure, accelerated heart beat and the beginning of liver failure, on top of kidney failure and pancreatic cancer. In spite of all this, she remained positive and hopeful and didn’t lose her faith in God. Today at 8 pm Roberta lost her long battle and passed away. She left her family and friends devastated and full of grief. In addition to their emotional pain, they are now left with significant debt from medical expenses and now funeral expenses. Roberta’s spouse has taken much time from work to take care of her. They are really struggling to make ends meet. Please help them by donating. Roberta always helped those in need and always had a smile on her face. We will always remember the positive person she was!!!
