ROBERT DAILY was born in Texas and the grandson of a US Senator. After serving in the U.S. military during the Vietnam era as an officer and a helicopter pilot, he continued to fly for Air America, an airline owned and operated by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). During his travels, Robert developed a passion for gaming. Daily’s gaming career started at The Tehran Club and Casino in the Middle East. Impressed by the soft-spoken, charismatic and multilingual Daily, The Iranian Casino sent Robert to be trained in all table games at a London Casino. The Iranian Revolution that hit in 1979 ended his employment in Iran. In the 1980s, he accepted a position as Director of Gaming Operations for the Greater Asian Casino Management Company, consulting within the Pacific Rim Countries. His travels took him to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Egypt. In 1992 Robert accepted the position of Casino Manager and Director of Joint Ventures for Casino Mirage in Russia, where he opened the first known casino style poker rooms in the former Soviet Union. 1994 brought Robert back to the U.S., where he worked as Gaming Manager at Harvey’s Hotel & Casino in Colorado, before moving on to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. After nine years of service, Robert’s deep knowledge and knack for diplomacy made him the natural choice, in 2005 he became WSOP Event Manager and Manager of Tournament Operations, of all six of Harrah’s Entertainment properties: Rio, Caesar’s Palace, Paris, Bally’s, Flamingo and Harrah’s Las Vegas. In 2006, Robert was named by Harrah’s Entertainment as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Tournament Director. Under Daily's wealth of knowledge in the gaming, casino, and competent management, the 2006 WSOP was the biggest, most successful Poker event in history with 8773 entrants and the richest sporting event ever with more than $170 Million in total prizes pool, the largest poker tournament in history.
