Friends, family, good hearted humans, AKWAABA!
Thanks for checking out my fundraiser!
***BEFORE I GET STARTED, money donated to this campaign is T-A-X deductible! April 15th is around the corner folks, and your donations will empower women and save lives!
Whether you roll your eyes every time I start a thought with, "When I was in Ghana..." or this is your first meeting my red-bearded face, for the purposes of this fundraiser you should know that I'm unmistakably obsessed with two things: Ghana and Water. You can check out my last vist via my blog (and this fundraiser namesake), Robert Ghana Wild!
The once called "Gold Coast" nation Ghana, a small democratic and politically stable nation in West Africa, is like a second home to me. I've traveled to Ghana three times now, most recently on a research grant from the Andrew Mellon foundation to study Ghanaian water and waste management. For my fourth round, I've been lucky to have been chosen to work with an organization called Community Water Solutions (CWS) to help provide clean water to rural communities in need in Northern Ghana. Through CWS, I'm going to help build low-cost purification facilities to help eliminate water borne pathogens. From there, I'll help train women in the community to manage the facilities, and train them on how to run the small water business. The result will be clean water available for communities in need, run by empowered, more financially independent women!
To cover the filtration materials and travel expenses, I'm hoping to raise ~$3,000! Every little bit helps, especially given the great dollar to Ghanaian Cidi rate this year - AND REMEMBER - 100% of what you donate, you can write off your taxes, and deposit in to the bank of Robert and Ghanaian gratitude (with a lucrative smile and postcard interest rate).
Additionally, I'm raising money to pay for my $1500 plane ticket. If your heart has grown at a rate faster than the Grinch late on Christmas morning, please email me directly at Robert_little15@Pitzer.edu and instantly recieve untold Karma.
If you'd prefer to send a check, please write my name (Robert Little) in the memo and send it to:

MANY THANKS, you won't regret helping me and the people of Ghana out!
As they say in the Akan language Twi, Meda ase paaa, meda anfwo!
