Roberts Family House Fire Relief
Organized by: Laurie Shipley
By now some of you may have heard the news about the Roberts. Vivian, Zoe, Skye, and Rich, whom you may know from TAFFY, THEA, or elsewhere, are in great need of the community's help. The morning of April 2nd, their house burned down to the ground leaving them with literally nothing. All family members are safe. However the house and belongings, including both vehicles, are a total loss.
In addition, Vivian's Home Preschool -Acorn to Oak- the family's source of livelihood- was also lost. Temporarily housed elsewhere, the preschool is running now but they are stretched financially and with much uncertainty afoot.
This is an extremely difficult time for them as you can imagine. In addition to being in great need of help, they are also feeling a need to be private through this vulnerable time. The Roberts family, though stabilizing, are feeling shaken. They have asked that we do not post anything regarding them on Facebook or the home school loops at this time. Thank you for your sensitivity to their vulnerability. Please refrain from contacting them while they are in this first stage of recovery.
Please reach Kristie Simko Wells or Rachel Mehalek with concerns.
All money donated through the Roberts Family House Fire Relief will go directly to the Roberts. The hope is that the insurance will be fully cooperative. Vivian would like then to reimburse the community with any unused moneys from these donations with a fund for future home school families in need.
The Roberts Family is so grateful on many levels and wants you to know how critically important and amazing this community's support continues to be. For certain, together, we are creating a circle of care and love beyond imagination. Thank you!
