BENEFITING: Robin Hood
ORGANIZER: Robin Hood
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
On November 1, 2015, I am running the NYC Marathon to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation!
I first heard of the Robin Hood Foundation after I lost my buddy, Mark Fisher, in a senseless gang crime in Brooklyn on October 12, 2003. Robin Hood's mission statement is to eradicate poverty in NYC.
With the Robin Hood Foundation I have had the great pleasure of working with students throughout NYC to further their educational and career aspirations by partaking in Career Day at the Harlem Children’s Zone and attending a networking event with the students at Google’s offices in NYC. These are just two wonderful examples of how Robin Hood provides a hands on experience for the youth in NYC to set their goals high and help the students achieve those goals through hard work and focus while keeping them off the streets and preventing them from having the temptation to join a gang.
By the time I run through the 5 boroughs, twelve years will have passed since I last saw Mark in person, but with Robin Hood not one day will ever go by that we will not put our best foot forward in helping to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
I thank you very much for your support in helping NYC become a safer, smarter and all around better city!
Wish me luck as I run 26.2 miles!!!
All the best,
