Robin's Mission Trip to Nicaragua
Organized by: Robin Lewis
EVENT DATE Jul 27, 2015
Think back to some of your favorite childhood memories. For me, there were those warm Arizona days, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Imagine having no fond memories of your childhood. What if instead, all you had were nightmares of abuse and being forced to have sex? Tragically that is the reality for thousands of children in Nicaragua.
60% of human trafficking victims in the Western hemisphere are from Nicaragua.
I am partnering with two organizations in Nicaragua for a short-term mission trip:
• House of Hope is a vocational rehabilitation program for women leaving the world prostitution and human trafficking.
• ONE by ONE is a ministry that serves children and teens, many of whom live in poverty, and are at risk or victims of abuse and exploitation.
God put a burning passion in my heart to use my artistic talents to teach the children to express themselves through art and to help these women learn practical skills that will assist them in leading a life free from slavery and prostitution.
First, I am asking for your prayers for myself and for our team, that we can safely and effectively carry out our work during our time in Nicaragua.
Finally, I need your financial support in order to fulfill this mission. Any amount, from $10 or more, will be greatly appreciated. Just click the link at the top right of this page. It will take you just a few seconds to make a lasting impact on a nation that needs your support. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity. I will keep you posted about this mission trip!
