Hi Everyone, The 2015 Boston…
Hi Everyone,
The 2015 Boston Marathon came, I ran, I finished, and it was unbelievable! The conditions were less than favorable but that is just another one of those things in life you just can't control.
Tenacity, who you all so generously donated to, exceeded their fundraising goal for this campaign. You are the reason they did!!! Thanks to all of you for your financial support and for all the well wishes I received before and after the race. I am humbled to have competed with so many athletes in such an incredible event. It was the thrill of a lifetime to cross the finish line and to have my family greet me and encourage me in Wellesley at mile 13 and then again in Boston less than a mile from the finish! I can't wait for next year!

With sincere thanks,

Marathon Monday on April 20 …
Marathon Monday on April 20 will mark our final year in the three-year BAA Charity Program. Fifteen runners will proudly wear their Tenacity Marathon Team shirts as they compete in the famed 26.2-mile race from Hopkinton to Boston in support of Tenacity's programs for Boston students.

Our marathon coach George "King" Doherty will be in the field as well, and we acknowledge his generous time and support to our teams in 2013, 2014 and 2015 with great appreciation.

This year's team deserves high praise too. Imagine training for a marathon this year, Boston's snowiest on record? Their dedication and persistence is a testament to their strong character.

As a team, they have expanded Tenacity's presence in the community to over 700 new donors and have raised $120,000.

For this, we are grateful, to them and to you for your support of them. It is all to be applauded!

With gratitude,

Stuff About Me:

I was introduced to Tenacity by Caroline and Scott Lane.  I wasn’t familiar with the organization but I began to do some research to understand what Tenacity is all about.   I have spent a good part of my adult life coaching and encouraging kids to be the best they can be in sports and in life.  As a father of four children I understand deeply the amount of effort that goes into building character in young people and how incredibly important it is to their confidence and their future.  I welcome the challenge of raising money for Tenacity so you can continue to do the good work you are doing for the youth of Boston.  Lastly, and on a more personal note, my late mother was passionate about tennis and education.  She was a competitive tennis player into her early 70’s and typically played in groups with women ten to twenty years younger than she was.  Tenacity is an organization that she would have loved to be involved with.  I run in her memory, for her legacy, and for her never ending love of tennis and children.
