For over 90 years, Rochester Rehabilitation has helped people with physical, psychiatric, and vocational disabilities or other socio-economic disadvantages achieve their goals of work, wellness, and independence.  We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving over 3,000 people each year with an array of innovative programs in the rehabilitative areas of adaptive sports and inclusive recreation, employment and job support, driver evaluation and training, and mental health.  Our programs include:

DriveOn: Driving school (1.877.823.7483)

Rehabilitative driver evaluation and training (serving Upstate New York from Buffalo to Syracuse) for individuals of all ages and abilities who are living with any condition that makes learning (or re-learning) to drive challenging.  Examples include customers living with a learning disability, recovering from stroke or other serious illness or injury, or who live with a congenital condition, as well as older adults who want to refresh and sharpen their driving skills.  DriveOn has a full fleet of vehicles with and without adaptive technologies.  Individuals can be referred by primary care or other medical practitioner, government agency, or by calling.

Employment Connection:  Job-seeking assistance (585.263.2690)

Adults with disabilities and disadvantages (such as refugee status) receive evaluation, training, and ongoing counseling to help them identify skills, select job opportunities, go on interviews, and manage illness and life events to remain employed and independent.  Work-based assessments, internships, and direct placement services available.  Some sheltered-employment placement with ongoing assistive technology and counseling supports available.  Individuals can be referred by a government agency, or by calling.

Mental Health Center:  Outpatient one-to-one treatment (585.271.2520)

The MHC provides treatment to adults with mental illness.  Individual treatment sessions on a regular basis, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, and psychiatric medication prescription services are available.  Individuals can be referred by their primary care medical practitioner, a mental health practitioner, or by calling the intake coordinator.

Ventures: Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) (585.271.3430)

Ventures is a mental health program serving adults with challenges who need assistance in achieving their chosen life role goals.  Participants choose a schedule of skill-based classes and activities that focus on goals in the areas of living, working, learning, and socializing.  Psychotherapy as well as assistance with employment are some of the additional service options that are available.  Individuals can be referred by their primary care medical practitioner, a mental health practitioner, or by calling the intake coordinator.

OneSource Solutions:  Employment, training, and work experience (585.473.2052)

Rochester Rehabilitation's employment, training, and work experience division offers customized assembly, packaging, and fulfillment services, scanning and digitizing documents, and janitorial services. OneSource Solutions generates revenue that supports other rehabilitative programs and activities for Rochester Rehabilitation. It maintains high customer satisfaction and quality standards through its ISO 9001-2008 certified system, but the emphasis isn’t just on business. OneSource Solutions finds, trains, and employs people with and without disabilities who have goals of achieving personal, social, and vocational independence. It’s this positive synergy that helps people lead more active, mobile, and independent lives in our community.

SportsNet:  Adaptive, inclusive sports and recreation (585.271.1894)

By networking with nonprofits, sports clubs, recreational facilities, and sports professionals, SportsNet staff help people of all ages identify interests and adapt activities to their needs – regardless of the disability or limitation an individual lives with.  SportsNet has built a strong menu of activities from basic exercise plans with or without specialized equipment, to outdoor sports and high-energy team sports.  SportsNet has a vast array of adaptive athletic equipment available for use.  Anyone can participate; call for an appointment or to listen to a schedule of events.
