THE STORY:

Help me raise $50,000 and gain an opportunity to pitch our cause to Revlon Executives in NYC!

Perhaps you know me as a triathlete, a runner, a coach, a colleague, or a working mom. Do you know that I struggled with an eating disorder for 7+ years, on my own recovery journey, founded a non-profit to support others like me?

Rock Recovery supports the journey to freedom from disordered eating by bridging gaps in treatment and education and removing barriers of cost, accessibility and isolation. Our holistic and affordable outpatient recovery program successfully helps adult men and women by providing group meals, group psychotherapy, mentor matching and peer support, individual goal-setting meetings and optional Christian support services. We combine clinical expertise rooted in research plus spirituality for deeper healing and restoration. We do this all by leveraging community support from generous people like you.

Our beliefs: We believe that complete freedom from disordered eating is possible, and our doors are open to all who wish to partake in their journey to freedom with us.

Our vision: A world where eating disorders are understood and the path to complete freedom is fully supported.

Our accomplishments: Since our founding in 2009, we have educated more than 7,000 community members and helped 77 clients recover and move on to healthy and happy lives.

Our plans: We currently have a year-long waiting list for our services. Our goal is to double our existing program in Washington, DC to cut this list in half, and begin expanding nationwide to meet this desperate need for our unique and effective services.

Why we are passionate about this work...

In America alone, 20 million women and 10 million men will battle at eating disorder

Only 10% of those diagnosed get treatment; only 20% of this 10% receive the intensity of care they need to avoid relapse.

Health insurance often denies claims and sends patients home too soon resulting in 80% of patients with multiple relapses and chronic deterioration.

Those who succeed in intensive treatment need robust outpatient support when they return home to maintain recovery and avoid relapse. We make this possible with our unique and affordable recovery program.

We need YOU to help save and change lives - please donate today!

In addition to donating, check out our website where you can visit our events page, learn how to host a Rock Recovery speaker and get information about volunteering or joining our prayer team! http://www.rockrecoveryed.org/
