THE STORY:

Help us fight back against Parkinson's!

Update:

Thanks to the generosity of others, we have been able to provide the training, camaraderie, and encouragement to anyone wanting to experience the evidence-based Rock Steady Boxing methods to 'knockout' Parkinson's.

Contributions received since our January opening are being allocated 100% to help deliver the on-going training sessions at a minimal cost to each fighter. Many of our fighters are no longer working and live on fixed incomes. Your contributions help these fighters keep fighting to maintain their independence while improving their daily quality of life.

RSB Jax is currently in the process of becoming a charitable organization designated as a 503(c). We will be sure to update this site as we make progress in that effort to assist our goal of helping Jax area persons with PD continue their fight!

Thank you!

Classes are currently being held Mondays & Fridays from 10:30am-12.00pm at Jacksonville Muay Thai located at:

14333 Beach Blvd #4, Jacksonville, FL 32225

Tel: (904) 864-7343

To quote from the RSB website:

"We are learning everyday that there are ways in which people with Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and even build impressive power, strength, flexibility and speed! By exercising with coaches who know the ropes, you can fight your way out of the corner and start to feel and function better."

"Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routine as you progress through the workout. These classes have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, can actually lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier/happier life."

Testimonials

Pete, 78: "After participating as a boxer for four years, I feel I have not just maintained my physical well being but improved my condition. To mention just a few: my stamina has improved, my balance has at least maintained, I am stronger and I can run again."

Linda, 71: "Today I have a new lease on life. I am upbeat, happy, and optimistic-I have HOPE. I have taken control of this disease; it is not controlling me. The workouts are tough but I cannot wait to get there each day."

While a cure for this disease may lie ahead, the only way to fight this disease now is with movement. Rock Steady Boxing offers real change in one's day to day life and brings hope to those affected by Parkinson's and to those around them. Help us fight back by donating today and spreading the word!
