BENEFITING: PearlPoint Cancer Support
EVENT DATE: Apr 13, 2014
Our uncle, Paul Gottschalk, lost his battle with neuroendocrine cancer on December 23, 2013. He, alongside our amazing Aunt Jo, put forth an amazing fight. We are running this race to honor Uncle Paul's memory and to help in the fight against cancer so other families do not have to lose a loved one to this awful disease. Please help support us and cancer research!
The world famous Sarah Cannon/Minnie Pearl facility is charged with first level development of drugs to fight very specific cancers. These are drugs that have not made it to clinical trials, and in my Uncle's case, are developed by looking at a sample of his particular tissue. This suggested regimen is researched and held in a file. This is a fallback if traditional therapies should fail and the researchers' goal is to get his file up and ready and then to never see us again.. This institute does amazing work and it is fully funded by Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.
