That means 97% of your gift goes right to the dogs (and 100% if you choose to cover the processing fee on the donation page)! Rocket Dog Rescue is funded entirely by gifts from people like you, and your gift will help get the dogs the medical treatment they need, as well as toys, blankets, harnesses, and other supplies. Who are we?
Rock-star-dog-saving-superheroes, that’s who!
Founded in 2001 by Bay Area animal advocate Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation supported solely on donations.
We are an all-volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to saving homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals from certain euthanasia in overcrowded Bay Area shelters. We literally give them a second chance at life. Now headed in our 14th year, we’ve saved over 7,500 animals to date.
What do we do?
We jump in to rescue dogs in immediate need! These dogs are out of time in overcrowded -overstressed shelters-facing euthanasia simply because there are no homes. Many of them were once beloved family members, now left abandoned and alone. We often step in to help with the hardest cases-when no one else will-helping animals with no hope of rescue otherwise. We are their only hope. These dogs often come from conditions of severe abuse or neglect, or with serious medical conditions that require expensive surgeries and treatments. We are often called in as first responders in cases of hoarding, severe neglect, domestic violence, fire or natural disasters - having built strong relationships with local Police departments; shelters and departments such as the American Red Cross - we are often their first phone call to assist with animals in need.
