I started running or at least attempted to run last July 2014. I remember a block seemed an eternal distance, taking my breath away making it difficult to gasp for air. I thought to myself, “why are you doing this?” Well the first reason was to be healthier for my son who is only 2 years-old and needs me in great spirit and energized on a daily basis. However, as time progressed and my legs and breathing went longer I discovered a love for running. I truly enjoy running!!! I love how my mind is free, my legs carrying my body through miles and miles of scenery, through life. I am not the strongest, I am not the fastest but I am trying my hardest on a daily basis to become a better ME. With this said I wanted to embark on the dream of becoming a half-marathoner. However, I wanted to run for something that meant something MORE! After doing some research I found that an organization close to my family’s heart has a half marathon scheduled this year. I am running for Angela Marie Dunaway, to find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer, on my 37th birthday weekend in a city that brings so many memories to my family.
