Danny Rodgers' family has decided to train and run together in The Mercedes Marathon Relay to raise money for The Firehouse Shelter on February 11, 2018. The Firehouse Shelter not only provides food, clothing and shelter to homeless men in the Birmingham metro area, but they also provide assistance for mental health and substance abuse treatment. The Firehouse Ministries provides immediate assistance to homeless men, but they are driven to end the cycle of homelessness as well. Danny and Jeff Rodgers has been working with Firehouse Ministries for years and this year they decided to make their passion for the Firehouse Ministries a family affair. The runners of the Rodgers Relay Team is Danny Rodgers (69), his son Jeff Rodgers (47), his daughter Danielle Lee (39), his son Drew Rodgers (37) and his grandson Sam Hellebrand(13). This time of year is bitterly cold. Not a very fun time to run outside and train for a race. But they are running for men who spend a lot of time outside in the bitter cold. They run in the cold to raise money for a place that provides warmth and help for their fellow man. But they need your help. Please donate to help raise money for this wonderful organization. The Rodgers Family Relay Team and their families will be coming together on Saturday February 10 and serve dinner to the men at The Firehouse Shelter. Then the relay team will run for The Firehouse Ministries the next morning. Please help The Firehouse Shelter by donating to our cause. Any amount of money donated is extremely appreciated. Thank you and God bless!
