BENEFITING: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Dec 20, 2014
Our family is participating in the December 20th MMRF – Multiple Myeloma Race for Research 5k Run/Walk in memory of our dad and husband, Rodney Williams. For any of you who did not personally know Rodney, he was the best dad, husband and friend anyone could have possibly asked for, and we miss him every single day. Rodney was always one of the healthiest men on the planet; unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in March 2009. He endured many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and two stem cell transplants in his three and a half year fight following his diagnosis of this terrible disease. Rodney truly fought a courageous battle. His positive attitude and fighting spirit every single day remains an inspiration to all who knew him.
As Multiple Myeloma is not a curable cancer (yet!), our family is working hard to raise money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in order to help others affected by this terrible disease. Each dollar raised helps fund research towards finding a cure and improving treatment options for Multiple Myeloma. Since Rodney’s diagnosis, we have had several friends diagnosed with this disease; you may know people affected by this disease as well. We want to help find a cure so that others will not have to go through what our family did.
We are so very thankful to each of you for your support in our efforts to fund research towards elimination of this disease. We would love to have you join us on December 20 at 9:00am in Piedmont Park. If you are unable to join us, we would greatly appreciate your financial support. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 20th.
Please know that no gift is too small and every dollar is greatly appreciated. We cannot thank you enough for your consideration of a gift in Rodney’s memory.
