Roger and Diana's House
Organized by: Roger Russell
The earthquake caused the stone and concrete front steps to partially collapse. The foundation walls will need repairs where they have been racked by the movement of the house. Of more immediate concern is the replacement of the brick chimney. Without it we cannot use our furnace to heat our home. We have been able thus far to clear up the debris and cover the holes in the ceiling and wall with plastic. We need to instal a metal flue system for our furnace and water heater, remove the remaining plaster from the ceiling and one wall of the kitchen and replace with drywall. In the longer term, we need to completely remove and replace the stone and concrete front steps to our house. The concrete piers and basement walls will have to be repaired where they have been racked by the house movement.
