On April 27, a tornado unlike Alabama has ever seen, cut nearly a mile-wide path of destruction through Tuscaloosa killing 41 people. The devestation was unimaginable. "When we look back upon that day, however, it will be the resilience of the Tuscaloosa residents that will stand out, not the ferocity of the tornado." (UA Staff Newsletter)
Resiliency has been a common theme throughout the past few months while training for the NY Marathon. I'm sure there will be numerous times over the course of the 26.2 miles that my mind and body will want to quit, but with the Tuscaloosa community and people of Alabama in my heart, I won't stop until I cross the finish line.
In this last week leading up to the race, please help support me in an effort to raise money for the American Red Cross. Your donation will enable the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those in Tuscaloosa who still need it.
