Rome Bentley Education Fund
Organized by: Mike Robertshaw
Recently, our friend, brother and colleague, Cornelius "HeMan" Bentley lost his life to violence. He was 28 years old and leaves behind a 7 year old son; Rome Bentley. We knew HeMan for only a short time. He joined the Joule family four months ago, and in that short time endeared himself to all of us. At 6'6", 280 lbs, he epitomized the phrase "gentle giant" Always with a smile on his face, he would great you in the morning with his usual "What's happenin with ya?" as he swallowed your hand in his. He was the kind of guy would could make you forget why you were irritated or upset about whatever trivial thing was happening at that moment. Whether it was shooting hoops after work or an impromptu rap battle in the kitchen He Man brightened everything around him. We would like to honor his legacy of kindness and good spirits by helping to ensure that his son has the resources he needs to receive a college education.
This site is a place where those of us who knew and loved Cornelius have the chance to repay his family for the cheer that he shared with us. One thing we all loved about He Man is that he would never let someone else pick up something heavy if he was nearby. And he made it seem so easy when he lifted it with a smile on his face. It is only fitting that we should help carry the load he is no longer able to carry himself. Please join us in this endeavor and give what you can to help Rome have the future he deserves.
