A New Take on Vacancy
Rooms To Let 2015 - May 16-17, 1-5pm
Broadway-Slavic Village is a Cleveland neighborhood that became the epicenter for the foreclosure crisis in 2007. Eight years later, the neighborhood is still dealing with the fallout of the housing crisis with close to 1,000 vacant structures still found throughout the community.
In order to combat negative perceptions, build neighborhood pride, and make Slavic Village a destination for a day, Slavic Village Development hosted the inaugural Rooms to Let on May 17, 2014. The event attracted over 500 attendees to 3 vacant homes featuring art installations from over 30 artists. Rooms to Let 2014 also featured a neighborhood block party offering live music, hands-on art activities, food trucks, and a pop-up putt putt course made entirely of found objects.
Building on the success of last year's event, Rooms to Let 2015 will again create a temporary art exhibit and neighborhood block party. We are very excited to announce that this year's event has been expanded to occur over two days.
In order to grow the event, we need to raise $5,000!
Please help us reach our goal!
Your contribution will help provide:
- Supplies for artists
- Live music performances
- Hands-on art activities for children
We appreciate a donation of any size. Every donor will be recognized at each home and be invited to an after party on Saturday, May 16 attended by all of the wonderful people that helped make this event possible!
We thank you in advance for your generous donation!
Donations of $100 receive a Slavic Village t-shirt!
Donations of $500 receive 2 tickets to Celebrate Slavic Village and a t-shirt!
