Room to Read partners with communities across Asia and Africa to promote literacy and girls' education. We want to see a world in which every child gets the quality education they deserve, and we need your help to make it happen!
Our literacy programs help primary school-aged children become independent readers, since literacy skills are the building blocks for all learning in school. We establish school libraries, construct classrooms, publish children's books in local languages, and support teachers through supplementary training and resources--all to promote a habit of reading.
With girls' education, we focus on supporting girls to complete primary school and gain the life skills they need to succeed afterwards. This involves providing material support like school fees and a clean uniform, as well as academic tutoring, individual mentorship and life skills training.
