Roots of Peace is dedicated to the eradication of landmines worldwide by turning Mines To Vines. Our mission is to turn minefields into prosperous farmland. By restoring the land's economic viability, we strengthen community values and restore a sense of peace. We restore dignity to mine victims by supporting their employment in the age-old cycle of planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
15 million tons of bombs were dropped in Vietnam during the war - more than all bombs dropped throughout Europe in WWII. Today, over 80% of the land in Quang Tri Province is still riddled with landmines and UXOs, rendering the land unusable for farmers. Donate today. Turn Mines to Vines by replacing minefields with thriving pepper vines.
We have worked with over 1,600 farmers in Vietnam who have seen an average increase in their income of 300%. With more money, farmers have provided more educational opportunities for their children, visited doctors fewer times, and saved money to renivest back into their farms.
