BENEFITING: Wildlife Conservation Network, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 18, 2017
Dear Friends and Family, As most of you know, I am obsessed with animals (especially dogs; and Lily, in particular) However, I just came back from a life changing trip to Kenya and Tanzania, where I am sponsoring a baby elephant who lost her parents to poachers. I have never walked or run in an event to raise money for anything. Until now. With my friends from Extraordinary Journeys, I will be doing so for the first time. I'm sure you get requests all the time to donate money for any number of wonderful charities and causes. And I understand completely, if this is not something you are interested in. Please feel no obligation to donate, but if you would like to, below is more information about what I am doing and also a link to Saving the Elephants website to learn more about what they do. I have registered to walk in the Saving the Elephants Run in Central Park on November 18th. By walking, I am raising money for Save the Elephants, a conservation-focused organization that secures a future for elephants and sustains the beauty and ecological integrity of the places where they live. 100,000 elephants in Africa were killed for their ivory in just the three years between 2010-2012. Without urgent action to save the species, elephants could be gone from the wild within a single generation. My unique experience on safari this last September instilled a responsibility in me to promote conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species. I welcome you to join me at the run/walk on November 18th by joining the Extraordinary Journeys team or donating to my efforts to raise money for Save the Elephants. much love, roseanne
