BENEFITING: ROSE FITZGERALD KENNEDY GREENWAY CONSERVANCY INC
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I will be running in the 119th Boston Marathon on April 20th, 2015. I am honored to be running for the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and I hope you will join me in supporting the mission of this great organization.
Anyone who lived in and around Boston from 1991 to 2007 remembers the Big Dig. From the dust and headache of the project came a wonderful series of green spaces and plazas that span 1½ miles from the North End to Chinatown along Boston’s waterfront. Aptly named for the matriarch of the Kennedy family who gave so much of herself to others through her work with charities, the Greenway consists of parks, gardens, tree-lined promenades, and a carousel. Workers from the nearby businesses, restaurants, and public offices flock to the many food trucks located throughout the Greenway for lunch (currently, my favorite is the Cookie Monstah truck but I clearly have to change that prior to the marathon). While many have cursed the Big Dig 6 times over, no one can deny that the Greenway is a most welcome change from the raised highways.
I hope that you will consider making a donation to help support my run for the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. Your donation will not only support my run, it will support the Conservancy’s efforts as the steward of the Greenway. The Conservancy is responsible for everything from the day-to-day upkeep to the production of over 300 public programs, exhibits, events, and, of course, the operation of the carousel.
You may donate through this crowdrise site, or I am happy to accept cash or checks.
