BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jun 04, 2017
Some numbers to consider:
One World Trade Center
104 floors above ground
131 - Roselle Park resident Robert Kaulfer's badge number who died in the line of duty during the September 11th attacks.
A couple more numbers:
2017, the badge number of NY EMT Yadira Arroyo who died in the line of duty on March 16, 2017, when she was killed after a man hijacked her ambulance and struck her with the vehicle.
5, the number of children without their mother because of that incident.
What do all these numbers have in common?
On June 4th, I - with fellow Roselle Park residents and police officers - plan to take part in the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation tower climb at One World Trade Center.
Started to honor the memory of their brother Stephen - a New York City firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty on September 11, 2001, the Siller family has raised money to support first responders as well as service members and their families, including Yadira Arroyo's five sons. The foundation has offered $100,000 to help to try and alleviate their financial concerns.
Additionally, the foundation constructs specially adapted smart homes for our nation's most catastrophically injured service members.
Even if you cannot climb, there is something you can do. It can be $10 or $25 or $50 ... every bit will help to allow the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation continue their work to support those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to - at its core - help the rest of us.
