Join hundreds of regional amateur and professional cyclists on September 18, 2016 as they leave from Old Trail Village in Crozet, Virginia.
During the Challenge, you’ll ride through the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and explore some of the region’s most exquisite scenery. There are 25, 50, 75 and 100-mile route options, and an 8-mile family fun ride.
You’ll feel supported along the way with fully stocked rest stops, local authorities monitoring the route, and over 100 volunteers to guide you! After the ride, participants are treated to a finish line party including lunch, local wine and beer, and live music. Over the past 10 years, the Cycling Challenge has grown into one of Virginia’s premier fall cycling events and, with its local support and over 30 youth participants from the Boys & Girls Clubs themselves, is truly unique.
Your choice to register and fundraise will help us reach our overall financial goal which is continuing to serve over 2,000 local youths reach their full potential. Through programs and mentorship, the Boys & Girls Clubs enable and empower young people, especially those who need us the most, to be productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Fundraising isn't required to participant in the event, but we encourage you to accept our challenge and reach out to your friends, family and colleagues and invite them to support this worthy cause.
We do expect this year’s event to fill completely so please consider joining us on this amazing ride and show your support of the next generation today!
Our Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia support over 2,000 local youth by offering over 1,500 hours of programs each year in six different Clubs. The Clubs are a positive, welcoming environment for kids after school during the school year and full-time during the summer months. Below are just a few ways the staff at B&GC are changing lives.
