In the spirit of the holiday season and #GivingTuesday, we hope to inspire you to contribute to RotaCare Bay Area, Inc today.
RotaCare Bay Area's mission is to provide free medical care to those in the Bay Area for those who have the greatest need and least amount of access. We have provided over 25,000 patient visits from largely socioeconomically disadvantaged (the vast majority of our patients are at the 200% federal poverty income level or higher), minority, and underserved populations of men, women, and children.
Our organization receives no government funding or insurance reimbursement and depends upon the overwhelming generosity of our donors. Unfortunately, even with the implementation of The Affordable Care Act, RotaCare Clinics are still very much in need.
Several millions of Californians remain uninsured and underinsured, without an affordable or accessible option for quality healthcare. RotaCare is the safety net for providing a basic human need (access to quality and affordable healthcare) for those members of our communities who need it most.
98% of our workforce is volunteer based, so the vast majority of the revenue you donate goes directly towards the integral healthcare programs and services we provide to those in need.
Without RotaCare, our patients would have to/normally use emergency rooms for their care and the average cost for an emergency room visit is $2,000-$2,500 per patient.
A donation today to RotaCare will make a huge impact. Here's how:
$50 will provide care for a single patient visit.
$100 will provide medical supplies for one clinic's day of operation.
$250 will help fund one diagnostic (x-ray) exam.
$500 will help keep the lights, telephone, and internet on for a month at a clinic.
$1000 will help fund patient labs at a clinic location.
$25,000-$50,000 will help sponsor and fund a clinic location for an entire year.
Since 1989, with our first clinic in Santa Clara, RotaCare has grown to 12 clinics which operate across the Bay Area - in Coastside (Half Moon Bay), Concord, Daly City, Gilroy, Monterey, Mountain View Pittsburg, Richmond, San Leandro, San Rafael, Santa Cruz, and San Jose.
RotaCare Bay Area is funded entirely through the hard work of volunteers, grants, sponsorships, in-kind gifts, and last but not least, the generosity of individuals from donors.
Your support increases the quality of free medical care to the underserved population in the Greater Bay Area, eliminates suffering through service and compassion, and changes lives. Every dollar you donate can and will make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support this holiday season, from our hearts and homes to yours.
