This fundraiser is to join middle school students, teachers, staff and their efforts in collaboration with Monroe Community College on behalf of Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park and all their efforts for Water in South Sudan. I am a Monroe Community College Alum and returning student with two middle school daughters at Roth Middle School. As I am taking classes towards a degree in biology my daughters are both reading significantly powerful books. My seventh grader is reading the book "A Long Walk to Water" by Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park. She instantly made the connection that Salva and I are both alumni of Monroe Community College. I have taken my daughters to many Brighton campus events through the college and have made a better life and am working towards my dream career out of what I've learned and acquired from the college. It means so much to me to have many people raising awareness and money for a great cause. I plan to use my educational experience as a stepping stone to help sustainability and environmental protection in conjunction with medical safety from Food borne illnesses and infection for the United States Department of Agriculture. My children are my inspiration to strive for a better place to live that will provide basic needs for all while preserving our planet. Please join in our fundraising goal and efforts to give to those who cannot get what they should without our help and support. If we manage to raise enough money to the cause of providing wells for fresh, clean, safe drinking water in Sudan, my children and many others at their school may have the opportunity to meet Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park at Monroe Community College for the Children's Book Festival. They will be able to make a memorable connection which can promote the health and well being for future generations to come.
