First time jitters
September 01, 2016

So this is my first time making a donation fundraising page for anything at all ever, and I've been ridiculously nervous all evening. I just See More

THE STORY:

Hello everyone! My name is Rowan, and I am in a tight spot. I am a 26 year old transgender male, who just got his consultation for top surgery done in Georgia. As you can imagine, the total quote is extremely expensive - $7,676 and change, to be exact. Originally I was going to try and raise the funds for the surgery alone, but something else has come up and things have changed. When I moved to Georgia, it was for a fresh perspective. The downside is, I am now isolated from my friends and family back home in New England, and it's caused a massive decline in my mental health on top of the dysphoria. The home I am living in, I love them dearly, but it is not a healthy environment for me to be in. There is little to no communication, I do not feel safe discussing my thoughts and feelings as they are generally shrugged off as 'unimportant,' and as someone with Borderline Personality Disorder it's extremely bad for me to bottle up my emotions. I find myself doing so more and more, and it's starting to take a toll on me at last. I am planning to move back North, to Massachusetts, to get an apartment with a friend and get on MassHealth insurance, which will cover most if not all of my top surgery. The apartment has to allow my dog and two cats. As of right now I make $100-150 a week, and saving money is extremely difficult. I have been desperately trying to get another job, but nothing has worked out. So, I turn to you, in my attempts to raise up the money - a total of $3,000 - for the following: 1. Moving expenses - for travel. Food and gas, which in experience ranges up to about $250-$300 to get from here to Massachusetts with a trailer attached. At least one stop overnight, which will probably be another 60-100 depending. 2. Security deposit for an apartment! I'm going to make sure I have a location and a job set up by the time I'm ready to move, so that won't be an issue. Still, a security deposit is going to be the majority of this, ranging anywhere from $1000 to $1500 and that includes pet deposits. 3. Anything extra will be used for emergencies, because road trips almost always have some unexpected anomalies. Last time I made a trip like this, the car broke down and we were stranded outside Buffalo, NY overnight with no money for a motel and little money for towing and repairs. I would rather not have that panic attack again. My good friend Lee is offering to do commissions for anyone who donates $25 or more to the cause! Their art can be found right over here at http://spiritish.tumblr.com/ and contact will be established through me~ I'm starting this now because honestly, I would like to be able to move by spring of 2017. I don't want to put pressure or a rush on things, but the sooner, the better. I'll be saving up anything I can in the meantime, but every little bit helps. Thank you all so much for your time. <3
