Row New York's 2015 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon team will experience NYC like never before, racing through the streets of Times Square, catching beautiful views of the Hudson River from the west side highway, and finishing at the iconic South Street Seaport.
Row New York began in 2002 with the simple idea that competitive rowing paired with rigorous academic support for underserved youth could change the trajectory of their teen years and beyond. We have since taught thousands of young people the sport of rowing, and through it the values of tenacity, focus, teamwork, and confidence.
All fundraising efforts of our runners in the NYC Marathon will go towards strengthening our youth empowerment programs, which, by the numbers include:
- the past six years in a row of medaled performances at the New York State Championships.
-a high school graduation rate of 99% of Row New York youth, compared to 66% of New York City’s public school students.
-a college matriculation rate of 98% of Row New Yorkers, the majority on scholarship, and many the first in their families to do so.
-college success, with more than 93% of Row New York's youth staying on track to earn their college degree, compared to a national average of 53%.
Empower our runners and in turn, empower our youth.
