THE STORY:
The Reston Swim Team Association (RSTA) is a summer swim league managed by volunteers in the Northern Virginia area, dedicated to educating and developing swimming skills in our children and young adults. Once a year, in the dead on winter, brave individuals from RSTA leap into the bone-chilling waters (the "Polar Dip") of Lake Anne, Reston, Virginia for an opportunity to raise funds for families attending Camp Sunshine, which benefits children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
The camp focus is on alleviating the strain that a life threatening illness takes on not only the sick child but also on family members. Families have an opportunity to build or rebuild their relationships together and meet other families facing similar challenges.
RSTA funds are not used for the Polar Dip, so this fundraiser has been set up for RSTA Board members, swim team managers, and families to contribute funds separately. Children, water, passion, and compassion: please donate to this important event. Thanks so much!
Come join the fun: Feb. 1, 2014...the dipping starts at 2pm.
