"Greater man has no one than this; to lay down one's life for one's friends." ~John 15:13
Sometimes inspiration comes in a form that is the least expected. That was me just a few weeks ago, watching Sunday NFL with my husband and minding my own business while perusing social media. I ran across this thing. A post on the Operation Enduring Warrior page that caught my attention and ignited a spark. It is sure to be the toughest challenge I have undertaken - but the most rewarding one I can imagine. I need your help in honoring the bravest of the brave as I train for this Memorial Day event. Any amount you can spare... $5, $10, $20 is greatly appreciated and will help me to reach and, hopefully, surpass my present goal. Your gift is 100% tax-deductible and will make a great impact on the lives of wounded veterans!
My personal mission and journey of remembrance:
I dedicate my training and the 60 to 60 remembrance march to one of my best high school friends: CW3 Mitchell Kyle Carver, Jr., KIA, Jan 13 2006, Operation Iraqi Freedom. I will be honored to share his Story of Valor with my 60 to 60 teammates during the course of our 3-day trek.
The RUCK TO REMEMBER 60 to 60 event is...
A Mission of Remembrance – Patriots from all over the country descend into our Nation’s Capital at the start of Memorial Day Weekend - Trekking 60 miles from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia over rugged terrain and down into Washington DC in the early hours of Memorial Day morning – for a sunrise "FINAL MISSION" over Memorial Bridge into Arlington National Cemetery (section 60).
The 60 to 60 is not just an event – it’s a Mission to raise awareness and highlight the strength, commitment of our war-fighters and unite the Country with our mission to HONOR - EMPOWER & NEVER FORGET the sacrifices made in the defense of our Freedoms while always remembering those that paid the ultimate sacrifice and to raise awareness to those that continue to endure the sacrifices of battle.
In the 4th Annual Ruck to Remember - 60 to 60 is excited to partner with Veteran Empowering Charity - OPERATION ENDURING WARRIOR (OEW).
Operation Enduring Warrior is a veteran operated non-profit whose mission is to Honor, Empower and Motivate our Wounded service members through a physical, mental and emotional rehabilitative cycle modeled for overcoming adversity and hardship through innovation, teamwork and perseverance.
