BENEFITING: CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Sep 28, 2013
I was walking into a supermarket the other day after a long, great run. I'm sure smelled horrible, and looked even worse in my gym shorts, running shoes, and soaked-through athletic shirt. I saw a young gentleman in a wheelchair coming out to his car, and he smiled at me. I asked if he would like any help. He declined my offer, but asked me if I had just worked out. I begrudgingly replied, "Yes, I just came from a.... run." He laughed at my awkward hesitation and said this to me, "Keep doing what you are doing. Do it for those of us that can't."
I know I could not possibly ever run 50 miles on my own. For me, the inspiration to do great things comes from my desire to inspire and help others. I run not only for my own health and well-being, but for the inspiration I get from the millions of those who struggle with disability. Helping a program that reaches out to people with disabilities is the least I can do to get involved. This means the world to me, so please donate! :)
