ABOUT RUN 10 FEED 10:
RUN 10 FEED 10 started in 2012 with the hope of raising money and awareness for the dire hunger problem in America. The concept was a simple one. RUN a 10K and FEED 10 hungry people in your hometown. In 5 years, you’ve helped us to raise enough money to provide 5 million meals to Americans in need. We’re facing the challenge and looking to provide relief to those in need again in 2017; the road to a happy, healthy community starts with you.
After witnessing the effects of hunger firsthand when traveling as a United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Honorary Spokesperson, Lauren Bush Lauren founded FEED in 2007 with the mission of “Creating Good Products That Help FEED the World.” Since then, FEED has grown into an impact driven lifestyle brand, making products across a variety of categories, from bags to jewelry to home goods. The sale of each FEED product provides direct meal donations to children in need across the globe. Through on the ground partners, FEED has provided more than 95 million meals to-date since 2007.
DID YOU KNOW THAT...
1 in 8 Americans is wondering where the next meal is coming from
More than 13 million children are living in food insecure households
1 in 6 children in the U.S. is food insecure and while hunger hurts tummies, it also affects a child's ability to learn.
There are hungry kids in every county in America, including YOURS.
Many families struggling with food insecurity are forced to choose between paying for food and paying for basic necessities like medicine and housing.
HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULD RUN 10 FEED 10:
Right now, 42 million Americans are going hungry—they don’t know when they will get their next meal. The reality is there IS enough food in the world today for everyone to get the nourishment they need for a healthy and productive life. It’s something we can do something about. Together, we can make a huge impact in a very simple way. All you have to do is RUN!
