This is my 3rd year raising money to support refugee families recently resettled in the Denver-Metro area. I’m lucky enough to work with amazing kids and families from around the world every day, and see first-hand how the services provided through Lutheran Family Services help families integrate and become self-sufficient after fleeing a life of persecution in their home countries. In years past, my personal goal has been to raise at least $500 - 100% of which goes directly to support our refugee families – but this year I’m hoping to raise $1,000! Under the current administration, we have not only lost funding, but a toxic rhetoric around refugees has surfaced. Please consider combating this hateful mentality and directly supporting refugees by donating to our Run4Refugees campaign!
The Relay Team: Som, our Health Services Coordinator who himself came a refugee from Bhutan; Pemba, our finance and data guy, who came as an asylee from Nepal; Katy and Lindsey who play essential roles in helping our refugee families find jobs in Colorado; and Maggie who provides academic and cultural adjustment programming for our refugee youth.
Thanks for your support!
