The Ryan Richards Foundation was founded in 2016 in honor of my brother who died at age 40 from Nut Midline Carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer. Ryan's simple joy and humor were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Hence the Foundation which was setup to help other families with cancer and high school students entering college. In the last year, the Foundation was able to support 3 families: 2 mothers with young children who were fighting cancer themselves, and the family of a 9-year-old boy diagnosed with the same cancer as Ryan. The money was a gesture to these families that they were in our thoughts and prayers, and financial support to help with bills and lack of income that families incur when someone is ill.
Lastly, the Foundation is in the process of awarding 2 college scholarships to Falmouth High School graduates to help elevate the financial burden of higher education. My husband, Rob, received a scholarship that helped him so we feel honored to be able to pass that onto others.
