I have been training for a 5K in October. I started off using a cane to help me walk, stopped using the cane in December 2015, walked a 5K with the COMP Team for Fathers Day 2016 and now I am training for another 5K. I am raising money for GBMC Joseph Richey House Joseph Richey House is a 19-bed residential hospice located in Baltimore City. Their doors opened in 1987 and, since then, the staff has provided compassionate, end-of-life care to over 8,000 individuals and their families. Many of the patients served by Joseph Richey do not have a safe place to call home or do not have a caregiver to help them. And although many of them are not able to pay for the services they receive, nobody is turned away, regardless of their financial situation. Two years ago, Joseph Richey partnered with Gilchrist and GBMC to ensure they would be able to continue serving everyone who came through their doors. Last year, 150 terminally ill city residents received hospice care in this home-like environment. Annually, Joseph Richey provides $1.2 million in uncompensated care. The Baltimore Running Festival and your support through Team #RunGBMC is an opportunity to raise both funds and awareness for the work of this organization. Please help me reach my goal.
