Run With Totally Blind Runner Ivonne to The 2016 Paralympics
Organized by: Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt
My name is Ivonne, and I am a totally blind Runner and Triathlete. I lost my sight to retinal cancer (retinoblastoma) at 22 months of age. Since then I have overcome Skin cancer, and a rare type of Bladder cancer. Today I am on the USA Paralympic Track & Field team as the only totally blind female 1500 Meter runner! Please join me on my journey to the Paralympics in Rio! Your support will be essential towards enabling me to reach my goal of winning Gold this September. (The Paralympics is the equivalent of the Olympics for individuals with disabilities - www.usparalympics.org) Since I am totally blind, I need to train and race with a "sighted" Guide Runner. This makes my training and racing expenses twice as much as those of a sighted athlete. Expenses for travel to competitions, lodging, and meals away from home ads up quickly. This is why any gift you can make is extremely valueable and very much appreciated. Ways To Donate: *Make a gift here through www.youcaring.com *Make a tax deductible donation through the United States Association For Blind Athletes at http://www.iminmotion.net/paralympicsdonation.html !!!Join Me and Together let's transform the world through hope, inspiration, empowerment and inclusion as athletics unites communities across the world. ^^^^^^^Your kind gift will help offset expenses for the upcoming US Paralympic National Trials (june 30-July 2 - Charlotte, NC), and the 2016 Paralympics (September 7-18 - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil).^^^^^^^ For more of my story please visit www.iminmotion.net.
