I reached the 1/2 century mark this year and made two promises to myself: 1) improve my health and fitness so I can keep up with Paul and the boys; and 2) organize a fundraising effort to provide a significant contribution to area food banks. What better way to keep both promises then to combine them. Over the next year, I will run at least one competitive race a month as a way to raise money for area food banks. This is race, a 10K, is race #4. To date I have run 13+ miles in three races, next month I will run my longest race to date: 11.3 miles. In total, I expect to run more than 75 competitive miles this year. I am fortunate to have Paul, and often the boys, as my training and race day partners. More importantly, I am most fortunate for never having to wonder how I will feed my family. Please support our effort to ensure others can feed theirs by making a donation.
Why are we running?
Right now, 50 million Americans are going hungry—they don't know when they will get their next meal. The reality is there IS enough food in the world today for everyone to get the nourishment they need for a healthy and productive life.
Hunger is the world’s most solvable problem.
It's something we can do something about. Together, we can make a huge impact in a very simple way. Please support our efforts by making a small donation to cheer us on. All donations made here will support the San Francisco Food Bank through the Feed Foundation.
