BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
This Sunday I'm planning on running the ING New York City Marathon. While I signed up for this race as a personal fitness goal, I couldn't help but feel selfish for still wanting to run the race while so many have lost so much from Hurricane Sandy. Many in the metro area are still without power, heat, food and even without homes. However, the race does provide an opportunity for me and others to help those affected. My goal now is to use the ING NYC Marathon as a vehicle to help raise funds for the American Red Cross so they'll be able to use our funds to help those in need. I'll also be delivering warm clothing to those in need in Staten Island on race Sunday.
My goal is to raise the maration distance (26.2 miles) X 10 which equates to $260.20. If we do get to $260.20, I will match 50% of the total donations. I understand most have been affected by this storm so anything you can donate will be much appreciated even if it's a dollar. It all counts.
Thank you so much!
