365 Days of Running.
I believe when I told my husband my idea, I could see in his mind he was making the swirly ear hand gesture for crazy, and I think in my mind I actually thought it too.
Crazy or not this is something I decided to do, with the love and support of my family to prove that I can do it, and hopefully inspire others along the way.
Recently, As I was considering completing this personal goal, our family got the terrible news that my brother-in-law had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. We decided that I should start immediately, and use this opportunity to raise funds to fight cancer, and show support for him.
The day I first hit the street to run was the same day that he started his chemotherapy treatment. I am now more driven than ever to do this, for him, for me, and for all that suffer from cancer.
I am not an Olympic athlete, I am not the fastest nor the slowest, nor am I a marathon runner…yet; I am your average working wife and mother who ran in school and is still pretending to re-live her legacy with the occasional 5K .
In my daily posts, I hope you can relate, and maybe see yourself in my running shoes. So, here it is… My attempt at making a difference and inspiring others.
I hope you find yourself curious enough to want to try something yourself.
*Minimum runs are 2 miles.
