BENEFITING: AUTISM SPEAKS
EVENT DATE: Mar 17, 2013
I would like to start by thanking you for finding your way to this page.
Last year on my journey to complete my first marathon I was fortunate enough to raise over $3000 for 3 amazing charaties.
This year I also wanted to do something to make my journey meaningful. So I decided to run for someone and something that means a lot to me.
The little guy to the left is my son Luke, or Big Luke as we affectionately call him. It was about 6 months ago that we were told that Luke was Autistic. It was something that was tough to believe at first being that he seemed so normal to me. There isn't a day that goes by that Luke can't make me smile, he truly is a special kid and I am very thankful he is in my life. So one step, and one mile at a time time I will do what I can to help Luke and the millions of others affected by Autism.
So for those that ask me why I run, or say I don't know how you do it, now you know. I run because I said I would and for things that are much bigger than me.
Here is my commitment to this cause, I have the easy part. I run through the winter for countless hours and miles. In addition to this I will contribute $3 for every mile I run on Saturday, my long run day.
You my friends have the hard part, and that is to find it in your hearts to donate to my cause and my journey. You are the true heroes in this journey because without your donations, and encouragement this journey would be 100x harder.
I also just want to take a moment to thank my wife and my family for their support.
So thank you again for visiting..
