BENEFITING: FJC - A Foundation of Donor Advised Funds
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2014
The Lulu & Leo Fund was established in 2012 by Marina and Kevin Krim in memory of two of their children (and our grandchildren), Lucia and Leo, whose love of the arts and sciences has inspired this endeavor. The Fund is focused on raising money for education and enrichment programs through the arts for children and families that do not have access or the ability to participate in programs that promote creativity, enrichment and in many cases, healing. In less than two years, the L&L Fund has partnered with Free Arts NYC, specifically Parents and Children Together with Art (PACT), Cool Culture (focusing on the Literacy Through Culture program), and most recently "Sing For Hope". The Fund has also hosted it's 1st Annual Fall Benefit "The Art of Healing" in NYC, with the second scheduled for Nov. 5, 2014. The Fund has also created activities that everyone can participate in, namely the "L&L Project Together" and the newest project "SuperArtist", where children (and big people!) receive Challenges to inspire creativity, to "make rainbows from puddles". The money raised from SuperArtist Workshops will go into On-The-Go Bags, filled with art supplies for children in the PACT program.
The L&L Fund will be coming to California this Fall when we participate in the Manhattan Beach 10K Run on October 4th. Marina grew up in Manhattan Beach, and our many friends and family are looking forward to participating in our first West Coast event.
Please join us in enriching the lives of children all over the world by donating to this worthwhile and meaningful cause, a cause very dear to our hearts.
We are also selling T-shirts for race day, with an original design created by two moms, who got together as supporters of the Lulu & Leo Fund. For info, please contact Mica Baldwin Linsley on Facebook.
