A year ago a group of Cuban-Americans welcomed me into their quirky yet awe-inspiring group and shared with me all the strides they made in strengthening and empowering the Cuban youth who so desperated wanted and needed their help. Any one who knows me knows I always want to give back and inspire people towards their full potential. Please help support me in this very important cause!!! Please read our story below:
In 2013, Roots of Hope will be celebrating its 10th anniversary and we are kicking the year off on January 27th by running the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon as a registered charity! This year Run4Roots will be more than just a fun race to raise funds for our initiatives - it will be an opportunity to make history.
Why? Because for the first time ever, we will be running in parallel with youth in Cuba. In other words, when we hit the pavement on January 27th for our run, a group in Cuba will be running at the same time! In addition to being an unprecedented bridge linking the youth communities on both sides of the Florida Straits, the race will be an opportunity to build one-on-one relationships with young Cubans on the island who are thirsting for information and friendship.
The New Year has always been a time to reground and refocus - what better way to do so than to support a great cause and have a tangible impact?
